National Evangelical Church in Bahrain
NEC was founded at the beginning of the twentieth century by American missionary Rev. Samuel Zwemer, who spent his life traveling throughout the Middle East trying to convert locals to Protestant Christianity.
The Bahrain church was established as part of the Reformed Church in America's Arabian Mission, which also set up congregations in Oman and Kuwait. The church remains affiliated with and financially supported by the Reformed Church in America. The church is also affiliated with the nearby American Mission Hospital.
